Healthy Desserts that are Easy to Make

When you finish dinner do you automatically want dessert? Unfortunately if you are trying to eat healthy, you might be grabbing for something that could ruin your entire day.

So, instead of risking your progress, whip up your own healthy desserts ahead of time. This will ensure that you have something sweet to eat so you can still be healthy without having to give up something that you love.

1. Protein Shake

Although a protein shake may not seem like something you would eat for dessert, these can taste pretty sinful. Fortunately you can make these at home within minutes and they are actually good for you! The best part is that you can add in the ingredients you like, which means being able to personalize your dessert.

Ingredients:

– 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
– 1 sliced frozen banana
– 1 tablespoon peanut butter
– Almond milk (unsweetened vanilla)

Start out by putting the banana, peanut butter and protein powder into your blender. After this, add in enough almond milk to blend everything together. Blend until well combined and you are finished! If you want to make this more flavorful, then feel free to add in some banana extract, but remember that a little bit goes a long way. You can also add sugar-free whipped cream on top if you want to make it like a milk shake.

2. Banana Split

Seriously, you can have a banana split and still be healthy! This is actually a really easy recipe that only requires a few ingredients. It will please everyone in the family, including kids!

Ingredients:

– 1 banana
– 1 serving vanilla frozen yogurt
– 1 tbsp sugar-free chocolate syrup
– 2 cherries
– 1 serving sliced almonds

Start out by cutting your banana length-wise and putting in into your broiler for a few minutes (you just want it to slightly caramelize). After this, put it on a plate and add on your ice cream along with all the other toppings. You can cut this recipe in half if it is going to be too much for you, but this is a great amount for two people to share together.

3. Banana Bread

Banana bread can easily become a staple in your household, even if you are trying to cut calories. You can even add in a few chocolate chips without feeling guilty about it!

Ingredients:

– 12 mini Hershey’s kisses
– 1/2 mashed up banana (ripe)
– 1 box banana bread mix
– 1 can diet lemon-lime soda

Start out by mashing up your banana after turning your oven on to 350 degrees. After this, spray cooking spray on a bread pan and pour your bread mix into a large bowl. From here, gently stir in the soda until it’s combined with the bread mix. Fold in the mashed banana as well as the Hershey’s kisses to finish this off. Pour the mixture into the bread pan and bake according to box directions.

This may take longer to bake than what the box says, so just keep an eye on it. After it’s done cooling cut it into small slices and enjoy. Store in a plastic container to eat for the rest of the week!
